Applying Through DICAS
Current Texas State students (undergraduate or graduate), Texas State alumni, and individuals who are simultaneously applying for the master of science in human nutrition program, are eligible to apply through the pre-select process. All other applicants must apply through the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System (DICAS) hosted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Each year, the Texas State DI takes two to three applicants through the DICAS match system.
DICAS Application Process
The DICAS application process consists of three steps.
1. Complete the centralized application using the DICAS Applicant Portal. Additional instructions and support for completing the DICAS application can be found on the DICAS website and by contacting your Didadctic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Director.
2. Pay the $50 application fee to the Texas State dietetic internship. Please note, this fee is in addition to any fees you pay through DICAS. This application fee covers expenses incurred by Texas State personnel during the review of your application as well as the Graduate College application fee. A check or money order (made payable to the Texas State University Dietetic Internship) must be mailed to DI Director and postmarked by February 15th. Applicants will receive a receipt via email.
3. Rank the Texas State Dietetic Internship in the D&D Digital Computer Matching Process. As part of the DICAS application process, applicants must participate in the D&D Digital match. DICAS applicants to the Texas State DI must register with D&D Digital and rank our program within their prioritized list. D&D Digital provides additional instructions and support for the computer matching process.
Please note that applicants through DICAS do not need to apply to the Graduate College prior to admission to the DI. Admitted interns will receive further instructions about this once they are accepted.
